Whether you are stopping for a one-day cruise visit or staying longer on Jamaica’s north coast, there are several birding options available. Falmouth and Ocho Rios, the two cruise ship ports in north-central Jamaica, are about 1.5 hours apart along the north coast highway. Excellent birding is available within 45 minutes of each port. If you are arriving in Ocho Rios but wish to do the Cockpit Country tour, an adjustment must be made for the extra time and distance for transportation. For birders with more time available than just a cruise-ship stop, a customized itinerary can be made to visit a combination of these sites, as well as areas further afield.
